IDE to USB

Whats the best way of getting an IDE HDD to connect through a USB port? Need a cheap fix if possible??

a little dongle which converts one to the other, try googling brings up plenty of results.

Either put it in a USB HD caddy or get a USB-IDE adapter, such as a "Easy IDE".

I don't think OCUK stock these, but they can be sourced at other internet retailers.

They work pretty well, if its a 2.5 inch hdd then you dont need external power but 3.5 desktop hdds use an external power supply. If it is a 3.5 incher make sure you turn it on and let it spin up before you plug it into the pc otherwise it reports the drive as unknown.
