IDE vs AHCI for SSD

just about to install my crucial 128gb SSD

any benefit of using AHCI ? or just leave it on IDE ?

and will it install and boot if i put it on AHCI ???

I wondered about this and went with AHCI. All worked fine with fast benchmarks

i couldnt install with AHCI and had to change it to IDE

win 7 is insatalling now

can i, and is there any point to change it backto AHCI

from what i have been reading, there is little point

I'd also like to know the answer to this question.

My motherboard has the option of IDE, RAID or AHCI.

I also have the option to choose the SATA port speed setting (disabled, FORCE Gen 1 or FORCE Gen 2) and I haven't a clue which one of these to choose either !
