Ideal Screen Size ?

43" is perfect imo (no need for scaling at 4k). There is a chance 45" curved would be slightly better but it doesn't exist.

perfect for what though?

i could never game on a screen that large. not from my desk anyway using kb and mouse.

maybe if my desk was 2-3 times the size then maybe use it for work stuff, etc. but i could never game competitively

My 43 is mainly used on sim racing and RTS games, for racing on the 43 I pull close to me so it's all i can see and yes i may have to focus on sections of screen perhaps move my head as I do in an actual car, for work and RTS it is pushed back against wall and I revel in the usable workspace with non scaling, it's awesome, it is not perfect though, I'd like higher fps, larger size and higher resolution than 4k to make the image even more awesome.

I do have VR for racing also which is more immersive but I need higher res screens here also as HMDs aren't quite good enough.

Ideal size is person dependent, I use 43inch 4k and love it, looking to move to 46 144.

Do you two have your 43inch screen on a desk while you sit at it?

Yes I do, its great, mainly used for CAD work and gaming, its on an 80cm depth desk, so can be deeper than some people have a desk I suppose, but as mentioned it is on an arm so I can bring it closer for some uses :)

I just realised I quoted you twice. I thought I quoted two different people orginally lol.

Okay thanks. 32" 4k TVs are difficult to find. They seem to start at 43" so I was just wondering if it would be useable on a desk.

A 27" 180p screen is good for me as the text size is large enough so it dont strain the eyes(prob too large for other people though). Recently I have upgraded to the 49" 1080p ultra wide and objects and text are the same size as on my 27" which I am glad about.
