Ideas please - htpc related

OK, currently got a mac mini with a drobo attached to store content, but it's running Front Row, which isn't as nice an interface as I would like, nor does it integrate with internet players and most importantly, the iTunes Music Store.

I get all of my content from there, but would like a way to do all this from the 10ft interface (whatever that may be!)

I thought Apple had answered my prayers with the latest Apple TV, but then they dropped that it was streaming only, so I'd have a drobo full of content with no use!

What I want from you guys is some idea on how I can tie all my needs together. I need some FrontRow/Plex type piece of software which serves as content management and allows me to buy things from the iTunes store.

Anybody had any similar experience or ideas?

You can stream the content you've purchased already with the new Apple TV. You just can't download anymore from the iTunes Store only rent. So everything you have on the Drobo/PC will be streamable still.

Sorry I didn't really make myself clear. I don't want to keep the mini and stream from there. Ideally I'd have the drobo connected to the apple tv as another content source, but it can't do this.

My ideal situation would be if Plex could access the iTunes Store (and play it's content too, obviously!) but I don't think that's possible?

Any recommendations on where else I could get my content so that it plays nicely with Plex and iTunes?
