Identifying AMD processors

Am confused now as that number is totally different from the ones posted earlier? Or is this another one your testing now.
Am even more confused by your link cat as it says theres an AMD Phenom II X8 at the bottom of the cpu compatability list???

Well if it is a BD chip then of course it would get busy... Everyone here has been dying to see reliable BD benchmarks :p.

And your expecting to get those from me.. a novice overclockers with not much spare time ? .. besides isnt Bulldozer out now? or in the next few days (sorry i dont follow CPU tech much anymore)

It's been pushed back loads and loads of times, I think at the moment AMD plans to release them in mid Sept? No one is really certain on the current release date :(.

Bulldozer's not due till mid September.
We've had nothing in the way of benchmarks :p

ok i have finally managed to switch over the CPU's.. so i am now running the ZD292046w8k44 sample.. running at stock (at least i think its stock 2.9ghz)

Fritz Chess Board
8 cores - RS 19.41
8 cores - Kilo p/s 9316

1 core - RS 3.4
1 core - Kilo p/s 1632

Cinebench 64bit

CPU Test - 4.64pts 8C/8T (which dosnt look that good to me.. as my i7 comes in a lot higher)
OpenGL - 37.42fps 8C/8T + ATI 5800 series
(CPU-Z is still BSOD the machine .. so i think it might be the graphics card detection when it initialises)

A Phenom II X6 1100T gets around 5.8 in CineBench.

TBH,testing an ES sample meant for basic validation is probably not going to give you any indication of actual performance of the final product.

I would agree.. only the plus side is the CPU is fully unlocked for some serious overclocking.. but it still wouldnt get you much of a comparison result.

One issue i have is the motherboard is also a AMD Sample.. so i dont have any drivers for it.. so its all running stock windows drivers which im pretty sure wont help. Considering it has a fair decent CPU and 16GB of ram it should be pretty nippy but dosnt really seem that way.

From some reports any stepping before B3 was not working properly. I am pretty sure it got posted somehwere here.
