Identifying Storage Drives

Hi guys,

I've got a new PC coming on Monday which I'm going to install Windows 10 on. It's going to have a 1 TB WD NVME SSD, and a 1TB Samsung SSD.

My question is, when installing Windows will I easily be able to identify which drive is which when selecting which one to install it on? Some people have recommended unplugging the one I don't want, but is this really necessary or will they be easy to distinguish between?

Thanks.

I wouldn't bother unplugging it, just disable it in bios.

It's good advice to disable/remove additional drives at install time, I've known Windows installs do weird things with drives you've not told them to touch.

Yes it will show you the names that you know already, write after the step of formatting the drive.

if you just think one is "western digital" and one "samsung..." that will be as much as you need to really know.

I guess its going on the NVME...
