Awesome, but entirely pointless... Unless you want to pretend to be a criminal in a game, you are essentially going to be living a fake life using time which you could put towards your real one...

That is of course if it is real, which I highly doubt. :p
 
interesting but pitch video showed nothing of the game other than place holder assets or the "gameplay" and he isn't going to release anything on that scale on that budget.

Well it is still EA right, actually I doubt they/he even has anything playable? So he needs those funds to actually make the game so everything you see is pretty much rubbish. None of it is finished or anywhere near finished the video is just that, a video. Never going to be finished with the features if it does get backed.
 
Assuming it's not a scam of any kind, where's the appeal?

Play it normally you have a game that tries to be like real life. So more realistic "the sims" where you are the sim. I can't see the appeal here, perhaps the Second Life crowd will.

Play it for PVP and you have what will be a poor FPS which ruins the game for those playing it like second life..

yeah I watched the first minute and it just screams of the Sims.

Life for people to afraid to go outside and live.
