Idiot on the Nurburgring

Now, if I were to believe in God, then I would use the driver in the OP's post as proof that natural selection isn't at play.

That other video though. That is mental.

I am no racing driver, so perhaps his 'style' is valid, but I can't believe the fastest way through a corner is to load up the car that quickly and deal with the sudden unloading of the rear everytime.

Also, I'm amazed his car has such little rear grip, it's not lift off oversteer, it's just his rear has far less grip than his front which is an odd setup.

I do race 'online'.. not obviously remotely close to real life, but in terms of car behaviour, any moment you lost momentum on a corner, you are losing time, you certainly wouldn't get any respectable times on the ring with his approach.

That smug 'I'm a driving God' look on his face throughout the vid has to put him right up there for most punchable man of year before you even take into account the sheer idiocy of what he's doing on the track.

His replies in the comment section... Oh lawd.

He seems to think as he keeps recovering the car he is a brilliant driver, but the car wouldn't be losing control if he was a good driver. He will end up stacking the car but it won't be his fault.

Thought it was going to be this video - contains swearies

That is nasty, surprised the door opened ok at the end of the video, let alone the occupant being in a fit state to open it.

One of the comments made me laugh though:

Ian Crust said:
You can brake before the hump, but he was actually trying the other technique where you just nail the throttle and ride the barrier. It's often quicker that way, if you have damage set to "aesthetic only", but clearly he had "realistic damage" on.

He is definitely not a racing driver. He is one of those people who played a bit of racing sim game and then went onto spend a few hours on the ring and think there a pro racing driver. No racing driver would drive like that.

I'm wondering if he is badly left foot braking.

I had the same thought - I'm not convinced the rear end was breaking free naturally through lack of grip on the occasions it happened. It looked to me like he was provoking it.

I hope it was this ***** that crashed in that video.

Although if it was, he'd have a kickstarter to fund his next car and trip to the 'ring to hone his massive skills.
