I recently bought a Western Digital - WD TV HD Media Player and I plugged one of my 500GB USB External HDD into to it to play the media from that drive. But I forgot to 'eject' the drive after using it and instead unplugged the drive. So when I went to use it back on my PC I kept getting told by windows the drive was corrupt. So thinking I could fix the problem, I plugged the drive back into the Media Player and decided to try and Eject it. However the Media Player crashed, which meant I had to power it down, and now the External HDD cannot be read at all in Windows or the Media Player. I don't get any messages now.
So big question, can the data on this hdd still be recovered and if so how?
It was a bit of a numpty thing to do, but I just totally forgot to press the 'eject' button on the remote. Plus making matters worse by trying to fix the problem with little knowledge wasn't exactly smart either.
Eeek, help.
