A 45psi oil gallery pressure takes seconds to get all the way to the top of the engine. Can you imagine the noise and wear if it didnt?!
Newer VAGs have adblue
Adblue is purely an NOx reduction system rather than the DPF cleaning the usual diesel fluid offers. To make that pretty obvious its injected into the exhaust downstream of the DOC and DPF before it enters the SCR (Selective Catalyst Reduction).
Even if you aren't worried by the additional wear that can occur from extended cold running:
1) It's illegal to leave a car unattended with the engine running.
2) If left unlocked and a thief takes it (increasingly common in winter), you insurance is very unlikely to cover you.
Would think it will suffer from EGR clogging driving it like that.
It is not illegal to leave a car unattended with the engine running.
It is.
Would advise to give this a clean once a year if you can
Pffft. I've had the C-Max going on a few years now and I have never bothered cleaning the EGR valve. Nor made any dedicated attempt to clean the DPF. Just let the glow plugs warm up before starting and then drive it like you stole it. Does the job.
I dread to think what mine looks like. Probably the same as my arteries as I'm a heavy smoker!!
Maybe, but how many police officers are you going to get circulating a street at 7am looking for unattended cars warming up.
It sounds like the wrong car was bought for the job. Diesels take longer to warm up than petrols and this kind of usage profile is not what they're best for, and what they'll be the most reliable at doing.
It is.

That's referring to something different. It's not always illegal :-
Taken from Here :-
The legislation does not apply to:
•vehicles moving slowly due to road works or congestion
•vehicles stopped at traffic lights
•vehicles under test/repair, or
•vehicles defrosting a windscreen in very cold weather.
