Could you talk me though it mate? I cant find that in the Nview settings.

My setup is

Geforce 6800
Dvi to HDMI cable into the 32" and my 19" monitor running on Vga.

When I set it to 1280x1720p even using nview im getting a black border about 2 inches thick on the left hand side. Help please. Im running out of idea's

Also got powerstrip to try and get it to force it. But it still does the same. :(

Of course you're getting a black border..!
Your HDTV is 1366x768 which is 768p... not 720p

Set the resolution on your graphics card to 1360 x 768
This will give you 3 pixels each side that are black but you wont be able to see them (you wont notice). This is 1:1 pixel mapping & is what your TV should be set to in your resolution options in the nvidia control panel.

You may need to make a custom resolution with powerstrip, you may not need to, it depends on drivers

To add to that, I had to roll back to an earlier nVidia driver to achieve what Dave is saying there. Could see no way to do it on the current version. That may have changed again now.

powerstrip is not needed with nvidia cards, they have the advanced timing options in the drivers as standard. i did a thread on this, ill see if i can find the link to it.

found it: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17767983

i also did a guide somewhere on how to setup the 1360x768 rez on a hdtv and also how to make a driver for it if the tv's edid does not contain the right info. but without search function i got no chance of finding it.
