IE to Firefox to Opera

I believe the padlocks are in the navigation bar in Opera. I've just tried to process a fake order and it's showing the padlock inside the navigation bar, which when clicked on, says 'Your communication with the server is encrypted. Opera has classified the encryption as strong(3)'

Thanks :)

I'll be switching today :)

i got annoyed with firefox but i like the engine, so i downloaded flock. flock is good, doesn't crash like firefox but you can still use the extensions etc.

used to use opera before firefox, and loved the mouse gestures - you can get these in firefox with an extension.

Have you got a link to that extension?

Yep, just right click anywhere on the page and then select Block Content, click on the blockable content displayed and then Done on the menu bar at the top. After that you will never see the advert again. :)

does it have adblock with an automatic updater, so you never have to do anything?

also, something like the customizegoogle extention? -to remove all googleads

You can double click the left hand mouse button on a blank page to bring up the home page.
Not entirely sure if its possible to open a new tab with the homepage. But double clicking hardly takes more than a split second now does it :)

Thanks!!! Great tip.

Anyone got any more tips?

I love how fast Opera is, not only at rendering pages but at going back and forth.

In Opera, how can you replicate the middle mouse button click?

You see, I have Opera on my laptop and when I'm using the touch pad I'm unable to middle mouse click. I use it quite a lot as I can browse the windows forum for example, middle click on threads I want to read, it opens up tabs in the background but stays on the main page.

Holding down shift while clicking on a link open it in a new tab but the focus is then on this new tab and not the original.

Tip I read today. In Firefox searches using the Google toolbar would open the results in a new tab. In Opera, it returned the results in the same window.

Simply press Shift + Enter after entering the search field to display the results in a new tab.

Another one. Minimise to system tray: Ctrl + H

I found that by accident after just switching to Opera and using that combination to open up the history pane (as i did in firefox) but it minimized it. I've been using it ever since, very handy to quickly hide stuff :p

Hmm ok. If you hold down the right hand mouse button, then motion the mouse downwards it opens a new tab.

Similarly, if you hold down the right mouse button and motion the mouse down then up in one swift movement, it replicates the page on a new tab - pretty pointless i know.

And the opposite of that, if you hand down the right hand mouse button and motion the mouse up then down, it refreshes the page - pretty handy.

Theres more, i just cant remember.

I had to move from opera back to firefox because ironically I was having time out issues. I used to think opera was the best browser...

but, now that I utilse all these plugins I probably couldnt go back. :)
