Hi All!

I work for a web development company and I've been tasked to set up a PC running XP to have both IE6 and IE8 on it.

The only way I could think of doing this is to use multiple accounts. But, when you install IE8 on the IE8 account, it also installs on the IE6 account... and when uninstalling from the IE6 account, it also uninstalls from the IE8 account.

At the moment we have 2 laptops - one running IE6 and one running IE8. The laptops now need to be used instead of test laptops and may not always be available for testing. So short of buying 2 more laptops.. does anyone know of a way of doing this?

Cheers.

Virtual machine. Download Virtualbox and run one of the IEs in a VM. Probably less hassle than trying to make IE8 and IE6 coexist on the same install.

Or just tell your IE6 users to get with the times. :p

MS released a program a few months back that lets you run two different versions of IE simultaneously, can't for the life of me remember what it's called though, sorry!

You'd be surprised how many IE6 users there are!

I think we are probably going to go with this option.

Thanks for all the input!
