ie7 question: how to disable middle mouse button from opening links?

I want my middle mouse button only to scroll ( i think you guys know what i mean), but since ie7, when the cursor is over a picture with a link, like most imageshack pics etcetc.., and i press middle mouse button, it opens the link in a new tab, is there any way to disable that function and to only make the middle mouse button do what it does when its not hovering over a link or how it was in ie6, as i really like scrolling left right up down by pressing middle mouse button and just movign the mouse to direction i want to scroll to, but now i always have to move my mouse pointer off pictures 1st, while sometimes thats more than 80% of the iexplorer window...

do you still want to use tabs?

edit: nevermind, I was going to suggest disabling tabbed browsing, but that doesn't do what you want, it just opens in a new window instead.

Indeed, i just want my mmb to function like in ie6, but i like the tabs in ie7, but yes if tabs are disabled it just opens a new window when i click with mmb on a link (not intentionally offcourse).

Anyone knows a solution?

Ahwell I suppose ill try out firefox2 then, unless someone knows a solution still, but it's highly annoying in ie7 that when i try to scroll with mmb, and mouse pointer happens to be over a link or ad, that it opens in a new window  .

just look at what you're doing. surely it's not that hard to avoid a link when pressing the middle button.... :p

Its very annoying tho, yes it is hard if your whole screen is filled with an imageshack picture in original size and you want to scroll to check out other bits of the picture, clicking mmb makes the pic scaled down again, what i don't want...
