...is running in the background of my comp, however once I close it in task manager, it just pops up again straight afterwards.

Any solution that you guys know of?

I'm sure I uninstalled IE.

Can IE really be uninstalled? Perhaps you're running another application that requires one of IE's many libraries, one of which is launching IE.

Well, I've uninstalled it as much as you can, haha. I have no idea what program that would be though. Also every time I turn my comp off it comes up with the end program message for iexplore.exe AND sometimes it has two of them running in task manager.

remove whatever av you've got now

run..

ccleaner slim
nod32 av trial
spybot s&d
adaware
avg antispyware (remove this after)

put firefox on with adblock plus and Easylist subscription (do this on your pc too)

hijackthis will tell you what's running at startup
