I'm back baby!
...how is it that Leeds can fairly be docked 25 points for not cheating outside the game?

When other sides have been forced (or chosen to go) into administration they've been docked the 10 points. This was a punishment agreed by the leagues and members already.

I can even understand that other teams and maybe even the league themselves are aggrieved that Leeds took the 10 point deduction at the tail-end of the season so they didn't have to take it this season. However, that isn't against the rules, and who in their right mind would see their team 99.99% relegated and choose not to take the deduction then, instead waiting for the following season to take the hit? If the league and its members didn't like Leeds doing that then they shouldn't have voted in that change as was.

In addition, the 15 point punishment has been given for Leeds doing the right thing and the tax man doing the wrong thing. The tax man were willing to take Leeds to court - which would have seen no golden share for Leeds and would've no doubt been the end of the club. What HMRC wanted was for their £7.7m (or thereabouts) to be paid in full instead of the initial 13p in the £ rising to a possible 31p and **** the rest of the creditors. That would have been against the CVA and would have been breaking the rules. Leeds stuck to their guns and have been punished by the league for it.

Finally Leeds were only granted the league place on the grounds that they have no right to appeal outside football governing bodies. This is because any court appeal would be upheld because the entire thing stinks.

Disgusting.

Yes, people will revel in it through dislike for the club, but no-one with half a brain can say that how Leeds have been treated is fair.

Have to agree Gilly, from everything I've seen and read it seems like Leeds have held on what they wanted and have been taken to the cleaners for it, clearly a very poor descion to give them the extra points deduction and everyone that Ive spoken to seems to be of the same opinion.

The whole business smells very fishy to me

You have been well and truely stiched and I have to feel for Leeds fans. It is a shame that they have been made to face such a huge penalty for something that they didn't do wrong. The 10 point penalty is the sufficient punishment, and they took that last season, and if it had been any other club that would have been the end of the matter.

I believe that its because Leeds are the club they are, and with their recent past that the FA are going over the top, that and the fact I think they were annoyed that Ken Bates regained control of the club. I bet that if the Administrators sold the club to someone else, there wouldn't have been an additional 15 point deduction.

I said right at the start that Ken Bates could be big trouble for Leeds. I think in the very beginning we needed him and possibly wouldn't have survived otherwise. Lots of friends/family were happy that he was involved.

Now, however, it is difficult to find anyone that wants him in charge.

To say that's infair is a massive understatement. I'd be absolutely livid if I was a Leeds fan. What you guys have been through I wouldn't even wish on the gooners!!

Ken Bates is all to blame, he shouldn't be allowed near a football team.
Actually, Ridsdale should be accountable for 90% of the blame. The club was ****ed before Bates got near it and it was Ridsdale that ****ed it.

AC were docked less because they are a top Italian team. Everyone knows how important Italy is to Fifa, they couldn't give a **** about England though.

What did Risdale do?
So your post was nothing more than having a go at someone when you don't know anything about the situation of the club then?

Agreed...

I really do dislike Ken Bates, IMHO he is only in the game for the money and have no love for any club therefore why should any other club show any love back? He thought he can be clever by putting the club into administration and saving some cash but its the fan that suffers now that the FA as slapped the points deduction on them. I think he is just trying to pull another Chelsea, buy it cheap and make a profit. I'm surprised that any manager is willing to work under Ken Bates. I don't often form opinions of people I don't know but I really do hate the guy and he needs to get the hell out of football!!!

Agreed, it's a an utter disgrace and the main people who are affected are the fans.
I'm really hoping for a successful appeal but can't see whilst Bates remains in charge, the FA hate him.

Pardon my ignorance, what were AC Milan fined for?
Organized match fixing in the Italian football fiasco in which Fiorentina, AC Milan, Juventus and Lazio were all caught, it's commonly referred to as the Calciopoli scandal.

edit: Here is some information on it - [link]

I don't know if they were fined. They were docked points for match fixing.
Ah yeah the points dock was what I meant.

So they got deducted 8 points and Juventus got relegated? Pretty harsh, they should all have been hit with everything in the book.
