Well my VM is being cancelled in about 3 weeks, having too much problems with them, and when they tried to talk me through it over the phone i couldnt understand so i hung up called back later and called them to cancel.

Now it seems that ADSL wont be much good, i was gonna go BE, but since theres a possiblility im 3km away (2.3 straight line) from the exchange, i wont get any more than my current 4mb will i?

Are there any 'set speed' isps that are actually any good other than VM, because i no orange/BT sort of stuff is useless, im going to be doing a lot of online games including on wireless pc's so i need something decent.

Well cable and ADSL are your only real choices for consumer broadband. So if you've discounted cable because of poor service in your area, and you've discounted LLU services like be* because of your distance from the exchange, then you're left only with standard ADSL MAX services.

Generally Entanet resellers like UKFSN and ADSL24 are the most recommended around here, both for service and customer support.

Arnt ADSL24 and UKFSN the same as BE though? Like you have to be near the exchange.

What speed would i get at 3km (and thats not a straight line)?

Have you tried what I said mate, your connation wont automatically fix it's self lol. Plus your power levels on your modem might not be high enough to handle your line. It's all about testing which I would do before you move to another ISP.

nah i have tried everything, given up now, looks like i cant get any good internet now
