If England were in the Premiership, where would they finish?

Bottom half.

Outside of the strikers there is no pace.
The midfield has nothing outside of Gerrard.
And the fullbacks are gash.

Agree 100%.

Under Hodgeson, England are terrible.
Today they drew against Honduras...who?
And a few days ago I think they drew against Equador.

If either of these American teams played in the Premier League, teams like Man City or Liverpool would play them to work on goal difference. I'd say anything less than 5-0 would be disappointing.

I'm shocked that some of you believe that they could finish in the top 3. Hodgson vs Mourinho would be highly amusing. It would be like a T-Rex playing against an ant.
And dont get me started on Man City Vs England. This wouldn't even be a competition.

England are boring, slow, unimaginative, lacking of creativity. I will agree that England would be hard to beat by a big score line (eg. 5-0), but 1-0 or 2-0 or 2-1 should be pretty easy.

I think the key here is "Taking into account playing together week-in week-out"

If England could train and play together week in week out then top table should be easy, top 4 achievable I would say

Under Hodgson, Liverpool were mid-table. I think they were at 14th...not sure (Liverpool fans will know the exact league position).

So, the question is, is the current set of England players as good as Liverpool (during Hodgson's reign) OR worse?

If worse, then it would be logical to assume a relegation battle?

Permanently training together on its own would be worth a few places.

No England probably wouldnt compete with Chelsea or City or probably even ' pool , but they would be easily above Newcastle maybe banging on the door for 4th

Also take into account both countries faced in Miami are accustomed to that kind of weather, England' s performance back at Wembley vs the same teams would be completely different.

Its also impossible to assess where any current team below Chelsea and City would be without their England contingent

White and blue kit, fans with unrealistic expectations, over-hyped players, haven't been good since the 60s, based in north London...

Somewhere between 4th and 6th then. :p

I've been giggling like Ed Stafford for about 5 minutes, my neighbours probably think I'm crying.

Agree with the position predictions too given that the team train together and that there are duplicate players.

I'd assume that England would do pretty well because surely if England were in the premiership then the other top teams in the league would all be affected...for instance :

Liverpool would have no Henderson, Sturridge, Sterling, Gerrard, Lambert or Johnson.

Utd would have no Smalling, Jones, Rooney or Wellbeck.

City would have no Hart or Milner.

Everton would have no Jagielka, Barkley or Baines.

Arsenal would have no Chamberlain or Wilshere

So all of those teams would be weaker. Mind you..looking at it that way, Chelsea would be virtually unaffected and would probably win the league :)

The other teams would just buy more foreign players who are better than the Brits they would be replacing .

Makes it difficult to predict though, as we all know, those teams have bought A LOT of foreign players over the years who have been quite a bit worse than the british players in the league.

If absolutely pushed for a prediction, I'd say that England in the league would finish somewhere in the top 4.

As per title, if the current England team were in the Premiership, where do you think they would place?

Taking into account playing together week-in week-out, and their own teams not changing (ie an identical copy of Rooney would still be in Utd).

Just an interesting one given the comparison between international and domestic games.
they would win it because they will play with passion and flair for a premier league match
