You may want to read the forum FAQ.

We, Overclockers UK (OcUK) are happy to provide the resources of these forums to responsible individuals without charge. They cost a substantial amount of money to maintain and use considerable amounts of bandwith which is paid for exclusively by us. As you know OcUK are in the computer hardware business and therefore the promotion of OcUK's competitors is forbidden. Examples of promotion are :-

Posting links to competitors websites
Posting links to reviews that promote competitors
Quoting the names or contact details of competitors
Offering to provide the names or contact details of competitors
Hinting about product availability at competitors and their pricing
Using the forums to notify a member of intent or actual supply of names or contact details of competitors
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in signatures
Listing competitors names, URL's or e-mail addresses in profile
Posting links to or the mentioning of auction sites
Disguising attempts to do any of the above

Does it have an internal memory? If yes then I highly doubt it, if no then catch the Sales Assistant in a good mood ;) :D

Go in and ask and see what they can do for you.
Legally no, you're not entitled to anything as you made your choice so your stuck with it.
However most stores will listen to you if you take the unit in and it's in a totally resellable condition.

Did you buy it online or instore? If online you can return the item within 7 or 14 days I believe due to some distance selling act. If you bought it in store they are under no obligation to take the item back unless it is faulty, however most stores will give you an exchange or refund out of good will. If you explain you are looking for a more expensive model then i'm sure they'd be more than willing to let you add the difference if the camera you have is in a resellable condition.

If you have any questions about the best camera to go for have a look in the photography section, i'm sure the guys there could set you up with the right camera so this doesn't happen again.

Not true, its not a free use period only an inspection period, he has used the item so that is void.

But I think you're allowed to do a certain amount to 'inspect' it, aren't you? Taking a photo could surely just be inspecting it.

Because the item most likley has an internal memory and the picture and settings are saved then Data protection act comes into the situation and it would have to be destroyed to ensure the picture or that persons data is never recoverable, or so I also belive. Thats why there are demo versions, things like home telephones etc can be used as long as you don't store any numbers. ;)

Yeah I guess they could get you with that... but they likely won't check the memory thoroughly - he can just delete everything and say he used his own memory card in the camera :p
