the limit for being charged tax on an Item market "gift" is £18 from outside the EU, and £32 from inside the EU.

if you undervalue your package, and HM C&E notice, they will slap a huge charge on it, and you cannot claim the excess from the real value because you will then be admitting to attempting to Defraud the crown, which carries a large fine/prison sentence.

i do not reccomend that you try to defraud customs in this way

what you should do is have the package marked as "non-retail sample" or "warranty returns", because these items, legally, cannot be sold, and as such, carry no charges.

Also, the VAT on imports varies from good to good, but is roughly 22%
