If I put my graphics card in, should I worry about static.

I want to put my msi 460 in my old computer temporarily while I wait for the processor in my new build.
Should I be worrying about static because it isn't a motherboard that I'm putting in and don't want to go out in the rain for a static wrist band.
Thanks.

Hold the card by its edges or plastic shroud. Just ground yourself as above, the metal psu case is attached to earth so will be the case (if the kettle lead is plugged in to the wall socket).

i wouldnt overly worry about static, not unless your wearing a thick woolen jumper and rolling about on the carpet :p

pro tip: touch the psu to discharge any static and then get to work with no worry :)

ive repaired/built many machines without the worry of static
