If I replace a RROD 360 - what do I do with my HDD/Arcade games?

My bang on 1 year old Premium has just given me 3RROD.
I'm going to first take it back to the retailer with my receipt and ask for replacement - but am unsure about my HDD and everything else.
Is it possible the retailer will allow me to keep the HDD and everything else from my pack and just exchange the console unit?
If they do, will there be any issues with my saved Arcade games etc being linked to my previous console?

Advice welcome.

if the retailer is half decent they'll let you keep your hdd.

my 2 year old launch machine is currently away for it's second repair in a month and i'm trading it in when i get it back.
the shop is fully aware it's had two repairs, yet they will give me full trade in price and let me keep my hdd.

as for your arcade games...i think you'll be able to play them, but only if you're signed in to live.

Once your new console and old HDD are hooked up you can only play online, as the games are linked to your old console, in offline mode. Having said that I have read that you can call MS and get them to unassociate the games frrom your old console and link them to your new one (you might need the serial number, so make a note). It isn't really a problem if you are always connected via a router or something (like me), to Live.

Yeah this is the one thing I wish MS would sort out - I understand the reasons behind it but there has to be a better answer to it. I couldn't play any Arcade games while I was home over Christmas (no net access). :mad:
