After thinking i may get a new laptop i have come to the conclusion that i will be fine if i just get an ssd drive, the rest of my laptop isn't too bad for my needs, i don't play games much, my laptop is the Lenovo ideapad 510, Intel i5 (6th gen), 8gb ram 1tb hdd (5400 rpm)

I was looking at either the 500gb or 1tb version of the Crucial MX500 CT1000MX500SSD1 or CT500MX500SSD1 at the moment i have only used about 300gb of my drive and thats over a few years so i'm not sure weather to save money and just get the 500 or if i will regret that and eventually need the 1tb, i guess my other option is get the 500gb and keep my 1tb drive buit then i'd have to then look at how i connect that, to the dvdr port i assume? would that mean taking th whole laptop apart?

I guess just getting the 1tb version is much easier all around and i can keep my dvdr then and just wipe and sell the other drive.

Anyway my main question was if i get this drive and use crucial's acronis clone software, will it make a clone of everything including driver and recovery partitions so if i ever need to do a reset in the future i'd still be able to the normal way?

From reviews i have read i assume the crucial one seems to be the best / fastest ssd for me? i seen some benchmarks with other samsung and seagate drives and the crucial seemed to be the best.

Any advice regarding the above before i take the plunge and order this ssd drive would be great.

Thanks

James

Cloning software will copy all of the partitions if that's what you tell it to do.

If Acronis doesn't for some reason Macrium Reflect definitely will.

Samsung vs Crucial, either will be fine.

Samsung 860evo is the best non-pro sata 3 ssd. But it's price difference isn't worth it when compared to the mx500/wd blue/gigabyte ssds.
You won't see the difference outside of benchmarks. Just get the cheapest cost/GB SSD out of the lot.
