thinking of getting

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - OEM
Corsair Carbide 500R Midi Tower Case - Black/White

if i wanted to over clock what would be the best /quietist cooler to do the job ?
and does the psu have any bearing on over clocking ?

Id say go with a closed loop cooler unless you can fit a good sized cooler in your case, also is there any budget.

Just looked at pics of the case, can it fit any fans to the top? good airflow will also help with a Oc by circulating air in/out also.

Good quality psu is essential to OC cpu and overall system stability!
Coolermaster, seasonic and corsair are some typcial examples of reliable psu.
Corsair are really rebranded seasonics but its all good.

If your on a budget, prioritize the psu. You can buy quality air cooler for £25-40

Well I have an ssf system that i have had nearlry 3 years now which is playing me up.

So thougnt ahh what the hell upgrade time,

I was going to rip it all out and use what I can in the new case with mobo cpu etc

It is a sugo sg07 which has an 80 PLUS Bronze certified 600W@50? PSU with single +12V rail, was hoping to use it?

Budget is within reason, not stupid money for what you get.

Only a few CM units are really any decent.

Most of Corsairs units are CWT rebranded.

PLaying up? If theres problems, theres a chance it could actually be the psu.
By all means use it in new build but if you continue to have issues then its likely the power supply.

Also if your coming from a small form factor pc, the sugo sg07 cables might not be long enough for corsair carbide. What is ssf?

In regards to those brands, im really talking about that mid-to-high-end (£70-120) bracket. I could give specifics but its also up to system builder to do a little reading on their components, esp the psu.

thanks for your replies, plenty to think about

By problems I mean I found the cpu fan was hardly moving so I replaced it but the system still locks up after 30 mins or an hour or so, think its somehow overheating, not sure why.

Need to do some tests ot take it to bits but cant be arsed, they are very fiddly to work with.

ssf is a typo I mean sff (small form factor)
