If i Was ti Upgrade My 8800GT??

If i was to upgrade my 8800GT what card would give me a noticable gain? My current 8800GT has the aftermarket Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 and a 800rpm fan fitted so runs super cool and quiet, so i would want my upgrade to also be quiet and run cool. Wouldnt really want to spend more that £200.
 
4870 and a VorteXX Neo cooler (if you want quiet as some say 4870's are well loud), its a big improvement over the GT.

im scared to buy that cooler because it is so cheap and i hear it arrives with bits missing.
 
In that case, what Loadsa said. A 4870 will be a big improvement over a 8800GT at that res.

I am sure a read on here the other day that the Vortexx Neo was'nt compatiable with the 4870 though.
 
Ok then the 4870 looks to be as good as the newest Nvidia's?, ive had nvidia for the last 4 cards, so am a bit worried about going over to ATI as Nvidias have be good to me, i use the 2nd display as my HDTV as i watch a lot of programs through my PC, whats the ATI software like for setting up overscan etc on dhtv, as the nvidia software works well for me?
 
Ok the 4870 it is, is there one make on the OC website that is better than the other, is the Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB worth the extra
 
the 1gb is't out yet... that one is pre-order

at a res as high as yours though... the performance would be better.

wether it's worth the cost and the wait, however, is up to you.
