Ok, there is a high street retailer that has got the Matrix Ultimate Box Set thing in their sale at the moment for £19.99. I think it's a 10 disc set or something like that. I've seen the original Matrix film but not the sequals, some people have told me to just leave the sequals because they go into too much pseudo-philosophy and spoil the original. What I'm trying to say is, if I watch the sequals and they aren't really very good will it spoil my appreciation and good memory of the original one?

Thanks :)

possibly depends on how you look at the first film

Its still my all time favorite film, but the second and third are no comparison, but, still worth watching. They will be a let down comapred to the first, but so would any film.

I say watch them.

and can u name this highstreet retailer as i want them for 20notes.

I don't think it's a competitor, HMV :)

Also go the Alien Quadrilogy (newest one) for £19.99 too, I bought that one on Thursday.

The first one brought up all kinds of interesting questions - the second two just killed all the interesting answers, I felt.

Even the second one ended with some thoughts of "you know, I wonder if this means that blah blah.." and the third one again just dashed all the imagined endings which would have been brilliant and made it a bit.. well, odd. Dunno.

I also found the dodgy CG (in Reloaded in particular) really distracting :( The good think about The Matrix is that they didn't go overboard with CGI, so it was still believable. Like Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park, it will always look good.

Don't bother...The sequels somehow manage to be even worse than the unmitigated tripe which is the first one...

Thats pretty much my exact feelings about the Matrix trilogy

Well done :)

What he said. I dont actually mind #2 and #3 as much as i first did, but theyre still no patch on #1 - which is probably my favourite film of all time. :)

Reloaded is just eye-candy with a load of psychobabble thrown in. AVOID !!!

Revolutions is actually not all that bad as a sci-fi film. Try to pretend its not part of the Matrix trilogy and there's some decent action and adventure in it.

Exactly what i was going to say.

I bought the simple 3 disc set for a tenner in their sale as I still haven't seen the third one and I didn't mind the second one too much, and it was only a tenner so not too fussed if I never watch them again.

Don't do it to yourself. I loved the original movie, but now I don't like it so much, knowing that there is all this rubbish behind it :(.

Matrix = overrated quasi-philosophical claptrap with terrible casting and Keanu 'I CAN ACT WITH MY EYEBROWS!' Reeves.
Matrix Reloaded = More of the same, multiple Elronds.
Matrix Revolutions = OMG GUYS! *** PIGGY BANK IS GETTING LOW!

I can't help thinking that most of the people who don't like 2 & 3 didn't really understand them.

I'm sure that's gonna stir up some trouble :p

I think a lot of people dont like the idea of an action film also having something a bit deep to say :)
