If I've seen the Matrix but not the sequals....

I think a lot of people dont like the idea of an action film also having something a bit deep to say :)

Is that a reference to 2&3 because there is no message I'm afraid, just plot holes, innapropriate psuedo-intellectual speech and recycled charcaters, concept and plot

See, its all about the bang with you

On a serious note, I'd challenge anyone to describe to me what was in any way 'good' about 2&3 or what philosophical point it made...

they made me go wow

that classes it as good for me. I felt exhausted at the end of the films which is brilliant!

Oh, that's all fine then. What I am after is finding out WHY people like them. Matrix one had a lot going for it, much style - yet all 2&3 had was recycled special effects and little else. If that floats your boat then so be it, I'd just like to confirm that people aren't seeing what wasn't there in 2&3...

Personally I rather enjoyed the whole trilogy.
I know that 2 & 3 were slated but I just cannot help feeling that people were expecting "more of the same" from the original film.
This was never going to happen - it had to be something different and we were always going to find ourselves "outside of the matrix" a lot more in the second and third episodes.

Also as with the new Star Wars trilogy over the original - there is a far more complex story line going on which again contributes to the overall feeling that the films aren't as good.
You cannot totally switch off with regards the original film, however episodes two and three did require a lot more thought.

For £20 I'd say that the boxed set is worth it.
I bought each of the films seperately and I have watched and enjoyed all of them a fair few times - even the fiancee likes them and that was a surprise.

Yes, I was expecting an enjoyable and innovative film with respectable dialogue.

And the rest of your post doesn't explain why 2&3 were in any way good... emperors new clothes TBH...

You say that 2&3 require more thought, I would say that they require a fan to sit there and convince themselves why they weren't crap

the first time i saw the second one i was extremely dissapointed. Its not a film at all, more like a bridge between the 1st and 3rd.

Saying that though, it's good in its own right, but you cant watch it on it's own. Watched straight after the 1st its pretty good - like a continuation of the 1st really. Yeah i know that was all babble lol.

The 3rd i thought was very good, but they killed it dead with that ending. Well i call it an ended, its not really is it? its like *somthign happens* and when you expect the next part of the film, its all over.

It had good whizzes and bangs

I loved 1 & 2 and then did not fully understand 3 (if i'm honest) and also thought it was rubbish :p i have purchased the 10 disc set so will give it another blast, but can't fault 'reloaded' i don't think it should be beat with the same stick as the final one :p

would they ever make any more?

and why did they rush the 3rd and film at the same time!
