If someone deletes an advert from Facebook how do I retrieve it from my history?

Best way is to contact facebook.

However unless the advert contains blatant lies which could easily prove the seller was dishonest, then it's not going to do you much good.

If the ad says "12 months MOT, perfect bodywork, new clutch just fitted", and it turns out it's got 3 months MOT, covered in dents, and the clutch is slipping as you drive home, and a reputable garage gives you a written statement that it was still on the original, you might be able to do something about it (of course you'd notice those on the test drive :p)

If the ad says, "good runner, never let me down" and the engine blows up on your way home... tough.

Probably sold as seen, suck it up.

There's no "probably" about it :p

Unless he has a written contract from the seller stating they will provide a warranty of some kind, as a private sale, the buyer has no protection unless they can prove the seller was dishonest.
