Well, we developed all the necessary bits and bobs needed to procreate, so I imagine it's what we're supposed to be doing. If we didn't create life, there would be no life in the first place, and that would be a bit rubbish eh?

If you've never done so I would recommend reading The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins, it is a fascinating read. Procreation alone would not be enough if your genes did not survive into the future (indefinitely) i.e. if you had a child but they died as an infant then your genes would not be passed on through that vessel (the child) so you would have failed in the sense of continuing your genes. However be very careful what you say about your understanding of biology and evolution in particular, Nitefly might cry if he has to attempt to correct another post on it.
I'm not sure if there is any deep meaning to life, I'll just carry on with it and see where I end up.
I'm not really interested in the science of it all, I was just speaking in simple terms
Also if we weren't here to procreate, it wouldn't have evolved to be so darn fun! \o/

a loving family, a job i enjoy, enuf money to be happy and comfortable, and 2 holidays a year.
Finding a cure for death would be a bad thing :/ Also, death isn't an illness, so is 'cure' really the right term?
The cure is out there and we are on the tip of finding it, expansion into other worlds is our thing.
Well I don't know how many people would be up for living forever, I certainly wouldn't want to.
i would, think of all the things your going to miss out on, think of space travel etc...
plus aging is slowing down in people every gen.
I have no desire whatsoever to go into space. I think a world where everyone lives forever wouldn't be as great as you imagine it to be...

Nothing is forever. How can you truly appreciate life without death? Have you ever used an invulnerability cheat in duke nukem? Pretty boring, eh.

For me, life is about having as much enjoyment as possible, at as little the expense of others as possible.
Playing games makes me happy, spending time with my gf makes me happy, laughing, eating yummy food, all these are what I live for. We're only here for a split second in the grand scheme of things, may as well enjoy it!
