If there could only be 1 console developer

Indeed but its bound to spark PS3 Vs 360 comments, which is ashame.

was trying to talk in terms on company rather than console to avoid that debate

Hmmm, tuff one. As much as I would love another sega console. I would have to say M$ not had a better console since snes/megadrive days. :p

the Sega DC was my favourite console until the 360. i loved the ps1 but hates ps2 and hated xbox but love the 360

the only consoles ive truly liked every one of is the Nintendos

SNES + N64 + Cube = nintendo for the win!! closely followed by sega

Sony.

There's a reason Sega stopped making consoles and Nintendo are too zany and cartoony for me.

Microsoft would come a close second because of the reliability problems.

One console maker simply wouldn't work for us.

But two would and my two would be Microsoft and Sega for these reasons

Microsoft - They have the money, power and drive to get a great console to us and keep any competition on it's toes.

Sega - There are so many reasons why Sega should still be in the console arena it's hard to know where to start. When i used to go to the arcades at the seaside and play games like Sega Rally, Daytona and countless other big Sega arcade games i used to love comming home and playing a fantastic version of that Sega game on my Sega console i.e Sega Rally on Saturn. There's just something trully magical about Sega. You've all heard people talk about the Dreamcast as the best ever console and it's absolutely true Imagine a Console made by Sega with the power of the 360, Stuff of dreams :)

Personally i would say Sony, though i wouldn't have minded if Sony got MS in to help the online aspect of a console.

I have always just preffered Sony consoles tbh.

Competition in the marketplace is always better no matter what

Nintendo for Waverace, Zelda & Mario (to name just a few)

MS for ........(there must be something but its gone for now ) :D

Sony for GT series, SSX (even though its now on Nintendo also and possibly X360), Motorstorm and WipeOut

From personal experience I thought the X360 was harder to configure out of the box - the PS3 I connected everything first and switched on and it worked (via hdmi) , X360 I had to set best options for video (componant) and sound and then it was ready....only a 5 minute job at most but by no means automatic

Either way more developers the better, whether its a direct transfer or just gives ideas different people work different ways and give results that impress for varying reasons .... all the better for the customers

That's no reason to like a console

That why they were second to Sony. If they were truly reliable then I couldn't choose between the 2.

Him, but if that's dissalowed I'd be split between Playstation and Nintendo, having thoroughly loved both of them. I haven't played the Wii yet though, but I can imagine that would sway the balance.

I would have to say Sony as I think they changed the console market with the PS1 more than any console before or after it and it's just got better and better since then. Although I agree with some about getting MS onboard to help them out with the online play, but I would leave the XMB where it is as I much prefer it to the Dash on the 360 - easier to navigate imo.
