Chatting with a few mates yesterday about who would be in the British football team and we agreed that Given, Bale and Fletcher (MU) would be quite good...any thoughts?

Defo Given, not sure about Bale maybe to warm the bench for when Cole gets tired/injured.

Would have Craig Gordon as sub keeper also.

Ramsey, Bellamy, Collins and possibly even Gabbidon if he ever got fit and got back to his top form where he's really a very very decent defender.

Given, Richard Dunne, Stephen Ireland, Kris Boyd has an undeniably good goal scoring ability but not proven really outside of the scottish league at all.

Some of those would walk first team, Given for instance, I think Bellamys pace, work rate and never giving less than 100% every single second is something sorely lacking from the England team, Dunne, Collins would be excellent cover, or first team considering how prone to injury several of our first choice CB's are, Collins has been outstanding this season and Gabbidon always looked better than Collins, when he was fit.

Ireland and Ramsey for the future more than first team now, Ramsey looks more promising than any other player his age in the UK, Ireland looked fantastic till weird passing out and not playing much since early season, last year he was outstanding.

Gordon as in the Sunderland keeper? He's crap, even the Sunderland fans were saying that a few months ago.

I wouldn't have thought you'd listen to anything Sunderland fans had to say. :p

Gordon is a good keeper and he tends to play even better in national colours than he does for his everyday team. I don't know whether that trait would transfer to a British team rather than just the Scottish team but I can't think of a better keeper from GB & NI anyway.
