If there's 1 generation of gaming you could play forever, which one would it be?

Now I see where we stand.. those born in 84-91 claiming SNES as their time despite being too young and now those born in 95 claiming 6th gen...

I don't agree with it but sure
You do know that people played on SNES after the N64 replaced it in 1997? Looking online there was even a game released in 2000.

It's such a strange argument you have here. I got a Game Boy when I was 4. Am I allowed to say that I remember playing that, or because I was born 3 years before it came out does it not count?

His a blantant troll.

The 6th Gen 1999-2007 (Dreamcast, PS2, GameCube, Xbox and Gameboy Advance)
Plus PC Gaming from this era, UT99, Quake3, Half Life (nov 98 counts right? :D)

Given I spend more times these days reliving my youth playing BBC micro games on an emulator rather than the hundreds of games I have on my pc then I'd have to say 8 bit (would that be first generation?)

Before i saw the backend of this thread with the 98/2000 PC era being called out, i was thinking it too.

To be stuck in the era of early internet gaming, the whole clan, community, and lan party scene that surrounded it, yeah gimme that.

Reads like legend when you roll call them out, Team Fortress Classic, Quake 2-3, CS, Tribes, Unreal Tournament.

So let me ask you guys this... Can those born between 1995-1996 claim The 6th generation as their era then going by your argument????
If they want to. Why would it matter?

Let's say someone was born in 1995 - when the PS2 is released they are 5 (I was 4 when I got my first console, a Master System and a Game Boy). By the end of the generation they are 12 so they've no doubt got memories of the generation.

Why does it upset you about people that are different ages having memories of the gaming generations? Nobody can take your memories away, so if you are happy "owning" one particular generation fine. It doesn't mean that other (younger) people can have memories of the same generation.
