I am everywhere...
Im just listening to the review of newspaper headline for tommorow (or today's A.M) The daily mail has reported that one of the suspect that shot the Police woman Sharon Beshenivsky fled the uk by dressing as a woman in veil.

Maybe this is your usual dosage of media sensationalism but how do airport staff check women in full veil against their passport image? Again if this is true, then it is a bad thing and shows the flaws at our airport security.

Well, for a passport photo, nothing can obstruct the face, so I presume those who wear veils would have to reveal their face in order to pass through security.

Angus Higgins

But if that's the case the suspect should have been spotted?

Not quite true. There was a news story a while back about two blues brothers impersonaters who had their names changed to Jake and Elwood Blues, and were allowed by the passport office/government to have their passport photos taken with them in the black suit/white tie, dark sunglasses and hats.

Iirc, it was done BEFORE the rules changed.

Elrazur u have some issues to do with race i swear. How many friends do you post about race etc blah blah blah

It all ends up the same :o

 How is this even remotely linked to race? Flawed security is not a race, man wearing burkah is not a race...

Every time I wear my veil through security, I'm brought to a private room and checked out by a woman. I must do it more often.

Come on man, you knowledge of the aviation industry could help you know... :)

As far as security at airports goes I have nothing to call on apart from my experiences when travelling. I don't even work in an airport :p
However, I have seen veiled women go through passport control and I don't recall them being brought to the side.

Oh my bad, i thought you worked as an air traffic controller....Maybe another member.
