If you buy a PS2 are you supposed to be able to plug it into scart socket

a scart cable will surely be a quid or two thesedays ?

think the originals came with the av leads going into a scart block and dont most tvs thesedays have rgb inputs

infact do you know anyone withs a PS3 because they probably have a spare cable in its box ?

Or should it just have some rubbish RGB leads which about two televisions have. I foolishly bought a second hand ps2 off ebay

You mean RCA rather than RGB? (Red/white audio and yellow video). As said, just get an RCA -> SCART adapter.

Most TVs should have RCA in, and all of the current gen consoles come with an RCA cable as standard. You sure it's not just your TV having limited inputs?

Or you can pick them up for about a quid from auction sites, local electronics shops, mass online stores etc. ;)

Indeed, I've never saw a TV which doesn't have composite in . Most TVs come with component in too, so I'm still confused if you were talking about that? Unless you have a really old TV ofc.

Either way, a cable will cost a couple of quid at the most, so hardly the end of the world.

Just in case it's not clear, RGB produces a better picture than RCA - Red/white audio and yellow video or Composite Video. Make sure when buying a Scart cable that it's a RGB Scart.

PS2 also Supports Component but it's not really worth it at PS2 Resolutions although the odd game like GT4 Supported it.

took it back to the seller :) ruddy rubbish. I've never owned a telly with such things :) seemed to take ages to load games took about 4 minutes waste of time.

Last time I buy a console :(

So which cables did it actually have?

I still don't know how you've never owned a telly with either one though, even my monitor has composite and component in.

Huh? Component is worth it, it's far clearer than RGB.

The art in Persona 4 looks lovely via component.

So you've never owned a TV in the last 20 years then? Right.

If you can't figure out how to plug a Playstation into a TV then I'm afraid you're beyond help and should be euthanised. It's not the PS2's fault, or the TV's fault...
