If you could only buy one game, which is yet to be released before the end of the year - which would it be and on what platform?

Also state the reasons for your choice.

I think mine would have to be Pro Evo 2008 for PS3 as I think it would keep me entertained longer than any other release - If GTAIv was out then it would win hands down though :(
 
Mass Effect. Nothing else even interests me personally. I'm just going by Bioware's great history of games and it certainly looks like it'll be as long, open ended and entertaining with story and action. Can't wait.

NFS: pro street - xbox360

Just read a review in one of the many 360 magazines and it looks awesome. Always have enjoyed any kind of driving game especially the NFS series, so this one is quite exciting for me.
 
It would have to be either H3 or Mass Effect. I am not sure tho' since no reviews are out for either. But if I had to pick now? Halo 3.
 
I so want Assassin's Creed to be good but something is telling me it won't be. So i'd probably go for Stranglehold, I know its not the best game in the world but the demo is a ton of mindless fun, I must have played it through 20 times already.
 
Would have to say Super Mario Galaxy. It was going to be Call of Duty 4, but Super Paper Mario is just brilliant and has really made me itching to play Galaxy now.
 
I have to agree with simo182, Super Mario Galaxy for me. Reasoning, well its Mario and despite his whoring across other genres when it comes to platforming he can't be beaten.
 
Halo3.

Finishes the story, has everything it needs for Single Player set out, Co-Operative 4 player and it's gonna be awesome in Multiplayer.

The man speaketh the truth. It was probably the main reason I bought a 360 in the first place.
 
Only 1 game?!

This is going to be hard... it's neck and neck with Halo 3 and Mass Effect (like DaveyD's explaination, BioWare has always produced the best RPGs)

But as it stands, Halo 3 is a fraction ahead - because I know it'll not just be a great Multiplayer but 3 of my mates and I are ready for a 4 player Co-Op completion...
 
PGR4 for me i think. PGR2 was utterly brilliant. PGR3 was good, but not as good as 2, and 4 looks like it could be the best yet, which means many hours of entertainment.
 
Halo 3 - Infact if you said I could buy one game for the next 3 years it would be the same answer. There is enough in this game to keep me going easily for a few years - heck Im still playing Halo 2 after getting that on the release date 3 years ago :)
