£50 would be about $100, so that would get me the magnets to start my first windmill generator!!

Or you could just buy a complete Windmil generator would probably work out much cheaper than making your own

Oddly I can get it over 13000 with either hand, as it speeds up focus on moving your hand/wrist in tighter circles and do not allow your hand to move simply from side to side. At 10000rpm+ it sounds different and changes again near 12000, at those speeds your hand should be barely moving and all the work is being done by your grip and arm trying to control it. Mostly however, practice makes perfect! But it does indeed build up muscles!

Helps if you can learn how to start it without using the string and simply jump starting it with your thumb too
