Depends on what it was they were doing but I do report posts I see which do not fit with the forum ethos.

That's what the report button is for. We can't deal with things we don't know about. Despite what people think, we're not omnipresent.

That's a real conundrum, probably best to initially seek legal advice, perhaps ask your MP or a passing policeman? Good luck with what must be a soul wrenching decision to make.

I generally report spam posts, but I'll sometimes hit report for swearies that people miss.

It'd be interesting to see a report of the biggest forum snitches. @Feek/@Maccy can you oblige?

Depends what they were doing.

If they had dupe accounts and used them to troll both sides of a discussion then yes, report them.

If they were circumventing minor rules like fully staring out swearing then… meh.

In my head the mods might be more lenient about punishments if it's reported. I have no idea why! It also depends on the sub-forum for some reason.

No wonder there's such a high turnover in moderators! I honestly imagined perhaps ten or so reports a day across all sections of OC.

I am curious to know the actual figures. I don't burden the mods with reporting things I don't agree with, although I may well nonetheless appear in their workload via the keyboards of the perpetually offended

the only time I've considered (that I can remember anyway) using the report button was that vegan thread...there was a picture of dogs tied up in a net that was pretty horrible!
