I know buying them in the shops will be damn hard, but if you have the money and the desire, a certain online store whose name begins with A has them IN STOCK and probably wont for much longer.
So if you do want one it might be an idea to get in there...
I cannot afford it sadly, being only a poor student...

*edit*
remove competitor name

Best to remove the competitor link.
As for stocks of PS3 - they can be had all over the high street, no danger of selling out.

I work at a high street catalogue shop and we have 8 in stock, none sold today so far. A quick check on the system shows that the bigger stores have 20-30 each in stock right now.

Yep, a combination of higher stock levels (well done, Sony) and higher RRP (not well done, Sony) means they're not exactly flying off the shelves.

that is very interesting!
Maybe Sony have screwed themselves with the price more than I first thought!
Xbox 360 was gone within a couple of hours of it coming out...
Amazing had sold all before 6 AM on the day of release!
Having said that didn't Xbox 360 have big distribution problems? Gewtting a 360 in the UK for like 3 months after launch was a nightmare unless you had preordered one or had queued up on launch night...

PS3 has had a distinctly luke warm reception in the UK methinks...
Mind you if you went to the Launch in London last night and bought one you got a FREE 46 Inch HD TV AND a free taxi ride home!!!!!
now THAT is a good deal. PS3, 46 Inch HDTV AND a taxi ride for £420....
Not bad at all!

WHAT?!?!

Was there ANY publicity about this? All I heard was that a major retailer was looking after it's customers travel requirements to avoid late night muggings. There was never any mention of a HDTV bundle...

Source please so I can confirm my misery :(

Why would they publicise it? At risk the people who genuinely wanted one in the first place to lose out to people who turned up for a TV.

Every single "that high street catalogue shop" in my area has them in stock for store pick up, i just checked this minute.

Worst console release day since the jaguar :o
