If you want cheap SSDs buy sooner rather than later!

But samsung make their own NAND - I believe they're the world's leading NAND producer - so why would their prices rise as a direct result?

Because they can. If everyone's prices go up from the reduced NAND supply, they can raise their own prices, though not as much as everyone else does. This means they can undercut the opposition while making more profit per sale. Its win/win for them.

Rumour and word on the street is that purchase of OCZ by Seagate for $1Billion has been completed so that could mean that the prices of SSD's could be on the way up.

It's not official so don't shoot the messenger if I'm wrong... (hope I'm correct as I'm holding a few shares)

thx for the info

This is such BS that Seagate are allowed to buy all these companies.

What ever happened to competition?

do u run into asda shouting this carton of milk is cheaper at tesco?

Lol :D

I got a crucial m4 128GB arriving tomorrow (hopefully) or the day after, all for £75 including free delivery (royal mail first class), still don't think the price is quite right yet though.

But since I don't get free delivery from OCUK to NI for SSD's etc. and it costs about £7.25, I would have had to have waited for the drive to drop to around £65-67 in order for me to consider and that isn't going to be happening any time soon :p so I thought I would just get one now.
