First thing would be:

Pay off my debts and bank the rest probably. And not worry about money for a while.
 
I'd do the sensible option. Put it in a bank/invest it wisely and live off the interest.

It woulsd mean I could concentrate on finding a career I'm passionate about instead of having to get any old job for the money.
 
ive probably got another 40 years left of my life

i'd stay living at home with my parents and spend £50 a day on whatever, food entertainment and the money would last 40 years
 
actually i'd buy £20,000 worth of shares of each of the best 50 companies in the FTSE100,

£20,000 of BP
£20,000 of Tesco
...

and then sit back and see how much money I lost or gained.
 
I don't intend to win my first million, I intend to make it. As for spending it, well I'd mostly be concerned with making sure my parents have a decent quality of life in their old age. A lot of what is left over would no doubt be invested beack into what made me it in the first place.

£1 million, not much money these days to be honest, however....

Probs invest some, and bank the rest, at least until i wanna buy a house, probs pay off parents mortgage, adn i'd probably eventually go live in another country, someplace hot :)

Oh, and buy myself some extremely nice electric guitar's, like an original Gibson Les Paul Gold-top '57 :p

Probably buy a pub, convert it into a private pub where me and the locals can drink for free and smoke in the dry.
And a recording studio.
And an aston martin, perhaps a house in italy somewhere to.

Or I could whack it in the bank, i could live off the interest.
Not that i hate my job, or the money it brings, i just don't like working hung over, or after a gig, especially if i'm busy.

The thing is, as much as it is I'd have to do the sensible & boring thing and invest most into a house, and bank the rest?

I'm sure I'd 'live it up large' as someone said, but not to the degree as most would think!
 
I don't think I would tell anyone either....somehow... but I would pay off my mortage.

Sod it.. I would say I won £250k... pay off my mortgage, buy a house and a car.

And probably another house in the county and invite my rellies over for a tour of europe.

I would employ a dressmaker too. :D

Pay off Student Loan
Give my Mum enough to pay off her debts and bills and then a little for her to live on/spend/treat herself/do whatever she wants
Put the Rest in the Bank and live off the interest.
