Here's the problem ... I'm no web-building wizard but have made decent ordinary websites in WYSIWYG programs :o but I need to make a page that has news links down the left, say about 15 links, and when you click on each link the news content opens on the right hand side of the page.

I looked at iFrames but they seem to come in for a lot of scorn from proper web builders.

Can anyone help with this task ... please keep it simple and treat me like an idiot when explaining any solutions ;)

Thanks chaps

I was thinking of doing that but the news items will be added to a lot and thought the "iframe" way or similar might keep the amount of content on the server down ... maybe I'm wrong, hence my question :D

Personal preference is to avoid iframes, they annoy me having two seperate browsers in one window effectivly, means you can't bookmark pages etc. Best to avoid :)

iframes are also not indexed on search engines, with all the news you want posted, it wont even appear on the search engines let alone found...

i can go into more details, but only the index of the page will be crawled by search engines like Google if you choose to build a web site like this... those pages found will only contain probably the layout and nothing more, you'll see what i mean when you starting using frames on web sites... best to avoid them completely, even better dont consider them...

more "valuable" text/content on the page the better for search engines..
