Just building my palace so I can get my 4th colony. Definitely taking a 2nd marble one as that is easily the hardest resource to build up and you can never buy it on the market. Just lost most of my army on an attack but i did wipe out the other guys 300 odd slingers :)

If anyone else wnat to set up cultural treaties let me know. Leif Erikson in game PDA [20:52].
 
Almost succeeded in getting 4 islands with a resource each.

Then i'll be rolling.

To anyone who is familiar with attacking, what's best to use/build?

Some fool has decided to start attacking my lowest level colony with two of his colonies so I've decided to wipe him out. My resources are very very well stocked and I can easily afford a permanent upkeep of up to 15,000 gold/hr. Any advice?
 
Phalanxes are better on defense, Swordsmen are better on offense. Now that I think about rather similar to the Civ games :)

Don't forget workshop upgrades!
 
thanks for the cultural treaty egon :) - anyone else still need any. I would suggest everyone in the alliance gets some going (the more the merrier) as it boosts pop growth.

I think doctors are very helpful when your attacking and chefs for a good defence although the upkeep is quite high.
 
No probs. That makes 12 now :)

4 x L3 museums means less wine and very quickly maxxed out populations !

edit: Archers have an excellent offence and defence - more than twice that of the swordsman but is twice the upkeep. So the ratio is better at least.
 
I'm on Delta if there some sort of Allaince over there, names Kyrne town name Caldar. Need any buildings or anything to join them?
