Yay, just set up my first colony on the next island along, it's got marble so building it up in th early stages should be quite easy.

Some underhanded scoundrel sent a spy to my capital! I managed to 'retire' the spy but it didn't tell me who sent him. Time to look to my defences methinks. :mad:
 
Well just set up my 1st colony, went for a marble island because its starting to become more of a necessity and will be much more economical in the future for trading. Anyway I started thinking about what buildings I would need here first. Tavern, Dock, Trading Post, Warehous all seem obvious needs, later on Barracks but then it got me thinking. What about the Academy? If I build an academy on a colony what does it do? I can think of of 3 possibilities:

  1. It allows me to research 2 things at the same time (unlikely).
  2. It adds to the research points to the current research taking place on the capital thus reducing research time (possible)
  3. It does nothing (likely).

Anybody know yet?

Town name "Uranea", on island Soneios[63:28].

Getting nicely built up now with some trade routes etc. Built an embassy too. Not sure if I can bring myself to start pillaging etc. though! :)
 
Im on Delta [68:73] "Withernsea IM" , level 8, more resources than i know what to do with! Just starting to build my army :D . Also have a lvl 3 colony on a marble island [69:76] Withernsea IM. Using it purely to harvest marble and ship it to my island. Anyone near by?
 
Even though it says you're supposed to own a lvl 3 Embassy to start an Alliance I already managed to register one, so I guess I got one upgrade to go until I can add people maybe?

They don't give you many letters to use when deciding on a name, luckily it was enough though :D

You can search for alliances through the embassy screen. One of the buttons next to the alliance name sends a request to join the alliance.

The game doesn't lend itself to intuitiveness sometimes and the snippets of German don't help much either.

I've joined a small alliance on my island which for the moment is probably a safe option until I can build up my army a little, they're much bigger than me. I'll keep a lookout for the OCUK alliance.

I'm close to setting up my 3rd colony, can't decide whether to setup another wine colony since its so easy to sell (plus this island has a nice set-up) or whether to go for glass, I've found glass is needed for spies and to reasearch weapon upgrades at the workshop.... decisions decisions !
