That's surprising. My mira has a small amount of padding under the knee (The only place it has padding), and you can roll in or out the front lip of the chair to suit your thigh length. Does the more expensive aeron not have this?

oh don't get me wrong I'm going to stick with it. Maybe it's one of those things that you subconciously get used to, so when you do go back to sitting on a cheap chair you hate that one instead lol - have to say, other than my legs going to sleep and pins and needles in my right foot....my back doesn't hurt like it used to. That's a huge plus as my job involves a lot of sitting and it was getting to the point where rolling over in bed was painful.

The aeron has foam padding, the company who sold me mine replaced it with a brand new one. That said, I've heard the aeron doesn't go as far forward as the mira and doesn't offer as much under leg support. Perhaps that's what I'm experiencing.
To be honest, a foot rest would probably sort me out
I now have this EXACT chair, and it's fine! Fits me fine, find it comfy enough to sit in for long periods of time. I do get a sore back if I sit in for 6 hours playing ED, but we shouldn't be sat down in a chair for 6 hours.
Also worth it, in the hope Zefan sat naked in it......

well, i'm selling the aeron. Sat in it tonight, just can't get any work done.
I've been constantly messing with the settings, but whatever I do, the backs of my legs are killing me, and i keep getting pins and needles in my feet. The whole thing feels wrong to me.
damn! all i want is a comfy chair!
personally, when i'm sat down working, all I want to do it concentrate on what it is i'm trying to do....not be constantly feeling weird tingly sensations in my legs, and having to fidgit all the time
maybe it's just not the right chair for me
I think I'm going back to the purple shirt shop and seeing if I can find one of those no-named leather chairs for £80...or do I risk going for a stealcase leap?
I'm 5ft 10 and just under 12 stone (aeron is a size b) - perhaps i have the wrong size? Thing is, when I was sat in one at John Lewis (albeit for 15mins) it felt ok. Guess you don't really know until you've sat it in for a couple of hours

it's very odd that mate; I hope you don't feel like you have been lead on as they are genuinely excellent chairs. (not in the same way that everyone says Markus chairs are excellent
) Have you considered contacting HM about it? I'd imagine they would help if you don't mention where you bought it. Well done for giving it a go though, sorry it hasn't worked out...

Maybe there is another reason, like poor posture or poor mobility causing these issues?

I've decided to sell after last night
I'll make a proper for sale advert in MM, but I'm looking for what I paid which was £360.
The condition is simply excellent, and I will get some decent photos soon
I did get £60 worth of freebies thrown in (1 brand new herman miller foam insert, headrest, 2 x lumar supports, and an extra copy foam insert). These will be included rather than wanting £300 for the seat and the trying to get my £60 back selling the freebies on ebay.

Unfortunately chairs aren't allowed to be sold in the MM.
That will be because you are being supported like you weren't in your 30 quid chair, you really need to stick with it. Dump the headrest too, get used to it without. For the 300 quid you said you paid you got a bargain. Your posture will be getting sensible support hence the tingly feeling. It will go and you will feel better. If you don't I've got 300 quid with your name on it.
I bought one of these (markus) and for a chair which such a huge back it seems designed for a midget.
The bit of the chair that actually sticks out to support your back feels like it's inches further down than it needs to be for someone around 6"5
Not sure my back will ever get used to the shape.
I guess its "okay" if I have the back of the chair reclined a bit but I like to sit up straight at a pc not slouch back like I'm sun bathing
The actual seat bit you sit on seems to slope towards the back so your thighs are slightly elevated meaning the chair has to be lower than the correct height for you or the pressure on the back of my thighs leads to pins and needles which is also annoying.
I think if I were a few inches shorter the chair would be okay but for a tall person it feels more comfortable to support your own back than lean into the ****** chair because the lumbar support is to god damn low

The support on the ikea chair makes my spine want to be bending my back ... back in a surely unnatural posture.

I used to have one of these, the lumbar bit came unattached at the back. I however got rid of it, and bought a herman miller mirra and haven't looked back.
There are plenty of second hands around for a reasonable price, buy once... should last me years and years.

yes try a steelcase leap defo.
I have even bought myself one for work now as I am fed up waiting for work to mess around and sort me a new one out.
I picked up a V1 for £110 and a V2 for about £170 2nd hand.
The V2 is a little comfier, has flat tops on the arms, the arms are a little more adjustable, and the base seems to be a little comfier (having said that I haven't sat as long in the V2 as it is the one at home)
I would happily reccomend either chair

Update!
ok, I just couldn't get on with the Aeron and decided to buy a stealcase leap to try. Wow! what a difference. I'm not in anyway bitter about buying the aeron, I'm pleased I did, as I know it's not the right chair for me (for whatever reason).
The stealcase suits me much better. It's so comfy best chair I've ever owned
Must be quite lucky, as this one is also perfect like the aeron. You'd never know either one wasn't brand new. Picked up the stealcase for £150 inc delivery which has brand new wheels, polished base, new gas canister and reupholstered fabric.
so I now have a fully loaded "like new" aeron for sale with a few extras
Trust me for details
