Ikea

Ikea Edinburgh has a nice bit out side (even better than the barging basement) which is all free, just go along and help yourself. I have made a few nice custom fitted wardrobes out of the stuff there.

im just a 2 mins walk away from one.. and we hadnt been there before so we really we went for fun.

anyways we actually had a objective which was to look for a bed side table and a bed side lamp.

we came out with pencils and a lucky bamboo.

Thats a lot of pencils :p How trips was that? Just one?

The Ikea near me in Ashton is bloody huge. Can spend all day in there and spend a lot of money too. Theres just too much stuff in there that you want and end up buying.

Stealing is fun now is it

Quite WHY you need that many pencils is beyond me.

I could understand you taking a handful but TBH you are taking the ****

Ikea represents good value to us, for a lot of things. I can't afford to be snobby enough to turn my nose up at 'veneered MDF' - particularly as I've got Ikea furniture going on +5 years old that it still going strong.

There's not a great deal many places that sell furniture that I can think of that's equal value. We tend to buy a majority of items from there, but pick up bits and pieces from good ol' Argos, The Range and even Asda. I'm sure it's lovely to spend £500 on a real oak book case, but a £49 one from Ikea will do till then.

I agree, you sit down at it and shove your cuppa on it..
Why it needs to be made of solid oak and cost £500 quid I'll never know. It's a table, £50 from Ikea, easy to get through the dam doorway when you move in and a lot easier to transport when you move out.
and above all if it gets damaged by either the cup making rings in it's surface or in the moving process... it's not the end of the world and not wasted money either.

As Seek was pointing out..
Too many people "MUST HAVE NICE THINGS" these days.

Are you alan partridge? He lived in a travel tavern.

In the words of ikeabot: Enjoy your affordable Swedish crap.

Could anyone who's been to the one in Nottingham tell me how you actually get in the place? The last two times I've been I've ended up going in through the exit :o.

I can't stand any of the Ikea stuff. Don't know why but unless you buy the expensive stuff there it's quite nasty, and then the expensive stuff there isn't as good as elsewhere.

David Morgans used to have some really nice stuff as did Howells but that is much more expensive than Ikea.

If you are planning on a bulk buy at ikea the best time of year is before Xmas. I went in there (lakeside) a couple of years ago to buy a chext of drawers & the place was like a ghost town. I was through the checkouts in 2 minutes! :D
