I'll have an R.I.P please Bob

I was lucky enough to meet Bob quite a few years ago when he was an ambassador for the "Save the Children Fund" and a friend and I presented him with a cheque on their behalf.
He was as much a true gent in person as he was on screen; one of life's really nice people. RIP Bob.

:( RIP Bob.
I was just finishing primary school during the Blockbuster era. Used to dash home just to catch the show even though I was awful at it. Loved the contestants being able to bring in their mascots :)

don't really know of him. Was clearly too young. I do however feel that the title is apt in the situation from what I've read, and he clearly meant a lot to many.

R.I.P

I remember the prizes were awesome on Blockbusters, for students at the time that is.

RIP Bob.

Also, just noticed this while looking through some old BB videos on YT:

Bob used to live in Pinner and travel into town by tube every day. Used to see him pass through my station every day for years, then after the first stroke we saw him less and less. Was a very frail gentleman when last I saw him.

Lovely guy, will be sorely missed.

Update: I saw Bob's son yesterday (and sold him a travelcard). He was unamused - "what a week, first my dad dies and now Miliband's got the sack."

For those saying "Can I have an R.I.P." he hosted Blockbusters not Countdown - you only got one letter at a time on Blockbusters.
