Illegal clamping

I remember a bit ago we had an issue near a friend's house - we went all vigilante with a rattle can of black paint.

We came back to find the car that'd been clamped while we were there gone anyway, with a few bits of chain left - someone had bolt cutters or a grinder!

If I ever got clamped I'd just pop my hub off to remove the sod, and keep it as a keepsake

You shouldn't keep it - you should return it, undamaged. I feel this does more to annoy them, as this is completely legal.

In fact, there was a story on the Pepipoo detailing someone who was clamped, he removed it himself legally, without damaging it, and then had it handed in at a police station 300 miles or something up country.

I would like to know how any normal person would manage to remove a properly attached wheel-clamp without damaging it - Derren Brown excepted, of course

get them on video then send it to the bbc or someother news agency. should be good for their publicity. Who owns the wall that the sign is fastened too ?
