If you're happy for it not be approved by the normal standards, then I wouldn't worry about being pulled over for it, unless it looks blatantly unsafe or weird. I doubt any policeman would ask you to take it off and look for the safety ratings on it (if they even know what the safety/standard ratings are!).

No I ordered mine from Italy, quite a bit cheaper than the UK suppliers.

Jokes aside I guess the big brands don't see a market for 4XL. Shame really as the other option would be importing from USA and getting hit with customs charges. It' like a penalty for having a big head.
