Yesterday I removed viruses and spyware off a guys pc and I use ccleaner after, But now Im a tad worried that it may of deleted inportant stuff, and I keep on expecting the phone to ring to get a bolloxing.

I always untick cookies and saved passwords, maybe recent documents list too

In my last job, someone pretty high up in the company was going spare after I'd cleaned his pc, the reason?

"You cleared my recycle bin, that's where I keep my second copies, I've lost over 2 months of work"

Needless to say, I didn't get in trouble!

^ I clear the recycle bin all the time when i go home on my dads pc and he goes mad too. I just tell him it automatically clears after a set number of days

I've come across this before. I recommended that they bought themselves a secondary hard drive...

Oh I share your pain!

I wouldnt use the registry cleaner that it has on someone elses PC or even mine tbh but if you were just using the cleaning function the nothing to worry about, unless you removed some passwords but he could type them in again anyway

Like theres no point, cos if hdd failed ur stuffed,, like this guy wanted a backup facility but totally pointless without another storage device.

Haha. What a plank. What did you do to stay out of trouble? :p

I agree with craig here, I don't like running registry cleaners (I used to run them weekly)

Even Mark Russinovich said it's a pointless exercise most of the time
