hey guys !
got my X1900XT today !! (power color)
im a total n00bert when it comes to ATI and drivers and general setting up etc...

ive scored 8261 on 3Dmark 05 ( all at default settings including 2 CPU tests)
which i think is LOW for that card ( it was lower until i aswitched the performanece / quality slider over in the control centre thing.
my 6600GT scored 5925 !

wondering if its my drivers? ive just used the drivers on the CD in the box... can some oen point me to a different driver to get the most out of my card ?

i dont really know how to se the catylist up, so any brief settigns would be great :)

as i said im totaly new to all things ATI, so any help wpuld be great !
Rick

p.s how can i monitor the temp of my card... it doesnt show up in PCwizzard like my 6600GT did.

6k in 05 with a 6600GT? Is that like the fastest 6600GT in the world ever?

argh !!
ive made a mistake... i ahve tons of scraps of paper with tons of benchmark scores and the 5925 was my PC mark... 3866 was my 3d mark !!
sorry...
suddenly my 3d mark sdeosnt look bad at all !
the new drivers gave me 8390, but the sliders dont seem to do MUCH.

cheers for the answers guys and sorry for the confusion with the scores !

any info about the temps ?

You have a pentium so about 8.5k is ok? I know on amd cpu's people get 10-11k.

Temps using atitool i get 44 idle 80 load on my 1900xt.

If you install the Catalyst control centre (which is a download from the ATI drivers website), then you can see the temp of the card using that....not sure how accurate it is though.

My Powercolor x1900xt is currently running at 44c atm.

ive got my new motherboard( i975x) for my new 930 chip ( same as what ive got now except on 65nm with 4mb cache) shoiuld all be fitted and running by tomorrow / thursday, then im gonna start some overclocking

and new SATAII hard drive so hopefully these will push my score uip a little too.

found the temp in the 'overdrive section, its at 50 since ive just coem off DOD:S

by the way... is it normal for my second monitor to blink off when opening catylist and doing other stuff./.. it just goes black then comes back on every now and then :S

Ive got 2 monitors running atm, the CRT does flick on and off when booting so I wouldnt worry about it.

Does running 2 monitors take more gpu power?

I got a vx922 btw.
